Opportunity Knocks

When there is to be a shuttle launch, certain conditions have to be correct before starting the countdown; they call this the "window of opportunity," for there is only a limited amount of time to act. Each day we have "windows of opportunity," conditions available to us, opportunities to act on the Lord's behalf. Some of these may never come again, for others it may be a long time before they return. These "windows of opportunity" could be something as simple as a smile, a touch, a compliment, or as deep and personal as sharing some of our own story. I suppose many of them pass us by each day and we aren't even aware; in other instances, we know when we have "missed the boat." It's hard to imagine how far-reaching are the ripples that flow out from our actions; they may even wash up on the shores of eternity. Lord, help us to be more sensitive to those who cross our path each day, so we don't "close" too many windows and doors, where you might have gone through.

Galatians 5.13 - For you were called to freedom; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another.

Job 29.24 - When they were discouraged, I smiled and that encouraged them and lightened their spirits.

Proverbs 12.25 - Anxious hearts are very heavy, but a word of encouragement does wonders.

Ephesians 5.6 -Make the most of the opportunity you have for doing good.

Galatians 6.10 - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Matthew 10.18 - This will give you the opportunity to tell them about me, yes, to witness to the world.

Philippians 1.21 - For to me, living means opportunity for Christ.

Matthew 16.19 - Whatever doors you lock on earth shall be locked in heaven; and whatever doors you open on earth shall be opened in heaven.

Revelation 4.1 - I looked, and lo, in heaven an open door.

Genesis 7.11 - The windows of heaven were opened.

Malachi 3.10 - Put me to the test and you will see that I will open the windows of heaven and pour on you in abundance all kinds of good things.

Revelation 3.20 - I am standing at the door knocking. If one of you hears me calling and opens the door, I will come in.
