Call Home
Prayer and meditation - what is the difference, anyway? To me one seems active and the other more passive. Prayer connotes words on our part - praise, petition, thanksgiving, etc. - just telling God what's on our mind, while meditation means listening - being quiet and trying to hear what's on God's mind! If we spend all our time with the Lord doing all the talking ourselves, it's hard for him to get in a word edgewise. It's rather like calling the wisest person we know seeking advice, counsel, guidance, and then doing all the talking ourselves, never giving them a chance to respond. Surely, it only makes sense to listen to what they may have to share with us! After all, isn't that why we made the contact to begin with? And what is even more likely is that God is trying to call us. If so, could He ever "catch us at home," would we be there to "pick-up?"
